Army acted against soldiers for not behaving in ‘professional manner’ against Kashmiri youths - Lt. Gen. JS Sandhu

Lt Gen JS Sandhu of the Indian Army has said that the army has taken action against those soldiers who did not work under 'Professional Manor'. 

Sandhu's statement has come at a time when some of the videos allegedly being reported to be viral in Kashmir, in which the army personnel are assaulting the Kashmiri youth. However, some such video is being tampered with.

Please tell that the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Srinagar-based 15 Corps Sandhu had come under the scanner after these videos became viral. After that the army gave assurance of action against soldiers who allegedly assaulted the Kashmiri youth. On the question asked about the presence of terrorists in the valley, Sandhu said that there could be 100-110 ghastly presence in South Kashmir. Sandhu further said that the martyrdom of Army Officer Lt Omar Fayaz, the Kashmiri youth is constantly being recruited to the army. We did not make any difference to this. Kashmiri youth still trust the Indian Army and they are constantly recruiting.

The official further said that 19 thousand Kashmiri youth came to Baramulla's recruitment program whereas the vacancy was only 800. On this side, there were 200 posts in Light Infantry, while more than five thousand youth applied for the test. On the terrorist attack on Amarnath on June 10, Sandhu said, "It is very sad. But we are trying to improve the situation at the grassroots level.

The terrorists in South Kashmir are being dealt with. Now the situation is completely under control. "On the other side, J. S. Sandhu, about Jahan Ahmed, who left the army camp and fled, said that we do not have any information about him yet.
